Springtime at Cookswood: Highlights from Our Family Easter Event

On the 4th of April, Cookswood welcomed families from near and far for a truly special occasion, an easter day for families. The day brought together children, parents and friends for a celebration filled with laughter, fresh air and plenty of chocolate!
At the heart of the event was the much-anticipated Easter egg hunt. It invited children to explore, discover and enjoy a sense of adventure. As the hunt began, excitement filled the air. Children dashed across the grounds, searching high and low, working together, and celebrating each find with delight - the joy was infectious.
The egg hunt was a chance for families to experience Cookswood in a new way, to wander through its spaces, and to connect with the environment around them. And of course, the reward of chocolate at the end made it all the sweeter.
Classic Easter Fun
Alongside the egg hunt, the event featured a selection of traditional Easter activities, including the ever-popular egg and spoon race. These brought out a wonderful sense of friendly competition, with children (and a few enthusiastic adults) taking part.
There’s something timeless about these simple games. Laughter echoed as eggs wobbled and fell, competitors tried to keep their balance, and everyone cheered each other on. It was a reminder that sometimes the simplest activities are the ones that bring the most joy.
A Special Guest: Dave Hickory
Adding an extra layer of excitement to the day was the presence of Dave Hickory, whose balloon creations quickly became a highlight of the event. With skill and creativity, he transformed simple balloons into animals and characters that delighted children (and adults!) of all ages!
